Dwayne Hodgson
Dwayne Hodgson was born September 1974, in New London Connecticut. In April of 1996, he volunteered to join the Army and travel the world. Just days after 9/11, he donned his battle gear, heeded the call of his nation to go into Iraq and fight for the liberation of that country and our freedom. Difficult times ensued after his fourth combat tour. Unable to the clear his head from the intrusive thoughts and images he'd witnessed during wartime, Dwayne searched for a way to regain balance after what he'd experienced. Upon reflection, Dwayne remembered the camera his father bought after his numerous tours in Vietnam. He embraced it as a means to liberate himself from the confines of a bleak reality and discover its inherent beauty. This plastic and glass object did more than just set his thoughts straight; it also ignited a fire within him. He became addicted to the camera. As a result, his perspective on life began to shift. Dwayne retired from the military and enrolled into the Academy of Arts University where he is pursuing his photography degree.
